QUEERING AMERICAN CULTURE (CUL-243204)
Course Description: Examine recent and historical forms of cultural representation in the U.S. (e.g., plays, novels, autobiographies, movies, television programming, comic strips, and/or other cultural texts) for what they say about LGBTQ+ lives in America. Questions that may be considered include: How are LGBTQ+ people represented in American culture? How do LGBTQ+ people seek to represent themselves? How has American culture always been queer? Note: Students will need the capability to acquire and view DVD materials for this course. Note: This course was formerly titled, "Gays and Lesbians in American Culture." The level of this course changed from lower to upper effective the SP1 2018 term. This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Humanities. This online course is offered through Online Learning.
