Description: Examine the roles and responsibilities of law enforcement and other agencies in managing disasters to ensure public safety. Develop an understanding of the changing role of law enforcement in managing mass disasters and terrorism, the impact of disaster and terrorist events on human populations, the control of consequences and perspectives on homeland security.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Criminal Justice or equivalent.

Important Note: this course will be renamed effective the September 2007 term. The new title will be Terrorism and Homeland Security. All other course content remains the same.
