Description: This course examines the managerial concepts related to the administration of informational resources from a holistic perspective. It views information resources as important assets within the business enterprise. Using learned concepts of Information Resource Management (IRM) through selected readings, case studies and projects, students will learn to deal with a broad range of uses and problems associated with managing information resources, focusing on IT infrastructure, operating systems, computer programming constructs and applications software development. To bring it all together, students will engage in both individual and group learning activities including the requirement for an individual student term paper project centered on addressing or solving a problem using actual IRM concepts.

Prerequisites: work in some aspect of computer information systems or an introductory IS course.
