Description: A Green Party candidate runs for city council. The Board of Directors chooses a chair. Five people run for three judgeships. What is the mathematics behind elections? Are there different ways to vote? Who holds power and who does not in an election? How do candidates decide what position to take? How do we elect the President of the United States? Mathematics is a big part of decision making on election day. Voter Math will examine the mathematics of elections while building math skills and understanding.

Note: Students will need Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Mathematics.
