Description: Explore the history of women and the family in the United States. Examine differences in the way historical events and circumstances have affected men and women and the structure of relationships between men and women and within families. Investigate the diversity of women's experiences, including differences in cultural background and socioeconomic status.

Included in the 6-credit version is additional study of primary documents from 1890 to the present day.

Prerequisite: previous study in U.S. history and/or politics.

This course partially meets the General Education requirement in American History for all students, but fully meets the General Education requirement in American History for students scoring 85 or above on the New York State Regents exam in United States History and Government.
