Description: Explore socially destructive behaviors of adults and youths, including violence, aggression and criminality. Compare and contrast positivist and humanistic theoretical explanations of such behavior. Research methodologies and interpret findings in recent social and behavioral science literature. Particularly relevant to students concentrating in Criminal Justice, but also useful to students pursuing careers in Social and Human Services.

Recommended: Introduction to Criminal Justice, The Sociological Imagination, Introduction to Psychology or equivalents.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Social Sciences.
