Description: We routinely contemplate our behavior choices and those of others. There is a tendency in undertaking such analyses to rely mostly on psychological explanations at the expense of examining the role external social forces may play in determining what options are perceived to be possible and reasonable. In this course, a review of scholarly findings about behavioral choice precedes analyses of case studies from literary sources.

Prerequisites: Advanced-level critical reading and writing skills are required.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Social Sciences.

Important Note: this course was renamed effective the November 2014 term and was formerly offered as Analyzing Behavioral Choices. Students who have successfully completed 263634 should not enroll in this course.
