Course Description:


Acquire knowledge and understanding of basic rhetorical and communication theories for interpersonal, group, organizational and societal communications. Apply those theories to communication decisions in real-world settings. Begin with an inventory of communication-related problems and tasks. Conduct a communications "audit" to select and use various strategies to solve those problems and complete those tasks.

Prerequisite: students should have the ability to do upper-level work.

Important Note: The last term this course will be offered is September 2010. Students are encouraged to register for Communication through New Media (CUL-223424).

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Basic Communication.
