Course Description:


Examine the origins and development of tensions between freedom and equality, with reference particularly to the United States. Examine contemporary discussions concerning community and the strengths and weaknesses of liberalism and democratic politics. Requires understanding of the American political system and American history. This course meets the general education requirement in Social Science.
