Course Description:

Empire State College is unique in its commitment to learner-centered education; we want you to participate in choosing your route toward your degree. Educational Planning 211 starts that process of choice. After setting the context by investigating the concept of "educated person" during the first half of the term, students individualize the second half of this course by creating a learning contract to reflect their interests and needs; learning contracts may investigate the meaning of education, the nature of independent learning, academic skills, careers, credit by evaluation, etc. Students are expected to participate in discussions at least 2-3 times per week during the first half of the course.

Note: This course is open to matriculated Center for Distance Learning students only, and only with Mentor/Advisor permission.
