Course Description:


This upper-level course for the Emergency Service Manager will cover multiple issues and will attempt to integrate the students' Fire/Police/Civil Defense/EMT/Red Cross background into a larger set. The course will cover the topics of Emergency Center Operations Management, Hazardous Materials Contingency Planning, Natural Hazards Mitigation, Radiological Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Medical Service and Administration and Emergency Response to Terrorism. A student project of sufficient rigor (approved by the instructor) will be the core of this course and the project will be part of the SARA Tier III regulations mandated by the Federal government for Community Emergency Service organizations.
