Course Description:


Learn the basic principles of communication theory as applied to group discussions in an electronic environment. Emphasis will be on group dynamics, the protocols of participating in group discussion and the adaptations needed to participate in and facilitate online discussion. Through study of basic theory, ongoing analysis of the discussion in one online course, evaluation of one's own group participation and/or leadership and a reflective paper, students will learn the principles and apply the strategies for effective group discussion in the online environment.
