Course Description:

Examine three important literary traditions of North and South America: Spanish-American, African-American, and Canadian fiction. Study each group of works separately to get a sense of the uniqueness of each culture, compare the groups of works to arrive at a sense of the universality of great literature, and develop a critical methodology to analyze fiction in general and these fictions in particular. This course meets the general education requirement in Humanities.

Strong, college-level writing skills are necessary.
