Course Description:

Archived 7/26/11 per Susan Oaks. Only upper level version is offered.
This course is designed to assist those students who plan to or have recently separated from the military. The course investigates the concept of transition: transition into academic inquiry, transition from military to civilian environments, transition from a military career to a career in retirement. Students will read various transition theories (e.g., Homes & Rahe) and will complete activities designed to help them apply theory to their real-life situations. They will use self assessments of transferable skills and reflect on outcomes to identify transferable skills and develop personal strategies for success as they transition from military to civilian life.
