Description: Gain an understanding of and appreciation for fundamental themes of biology through the study of plants, insects, and living organisms in ecosystems. Learn about the importance of biodiversity and the complex interdependence and interaction between plants and animals in a healthy ecosystem. Develop a conceptual framework that will enable you to apply what you learn to critical examinations of complex ecological issues. This course meets the general education requirement in Natural Science.

While some background in biology will be helpful, there are no specific prerequisites for this course.
