Description: Study the foundations of systems analysis, exploring both fire prevention and suppression systems. Because fire department deployment analysis is the focus of much of the course, significant application of mathematics to the fire service is required, including formulas for resolving such issues as response time and resource utilization. Activities emphasize data collection, analysis, presentation and interpretation, simulation, resource allocation, planning, the evaluation of service delivery strategies, preparation of written objectives.

Recommended: Previous study in Accounting for Decision Makers, Business Mathematics, Statistics, Economics/Micro, Algebra, Introduction to Computer Programming: BASIC, or equivalents.
