Description: This course will examine the short and long term ramifications for the U.S. national economy, for the various sectors directly affected, and for related sectors. It will also examine the effects on the individual worker in terms of its impact on employment levels, and on the consumer in terms of spending behavior. Course activities will include assigned readings from academic and popular journals in print and on the web. Students will also review and apply generally accepted economic concepts and principles to analyze and explain the contents, and to interpret and manipulate data (on employment/unemployment, for example). Writing assignments will include individual submissions to the instructor, as well as group discussions online.

NOTE: This is a one-time, special offering. This course runs for 8 weeks only.
