Description: Study the concepts of limits, derivatives, and integrals through intuitive and graphical arguments rather than through mathematically rigorous derivations. Focus on applications in the business area, including minimum-maximum problems, present value calculations, and inventory models. Using a standard text and graphing software or calculator and assigned problems, learn techniques to compute derivatives and elementary integrals of algebraic, logarithmic, and exponential functions. This course meets the general education requirement in Mathematics.

Prerequisite: A working knowledge of algebra, including factoring and solving algebraic equations (e.g., CDL Algebra course or its equivalent).

NOTE: Requires either a graphing calculator or a computer which can run MATHCAD or comparable graphing software.
