Description: Examine the issues facing employees, unions and employers as a consequence of operating in the context of the global economy and an economic environment characterized by competition, emphasis upon quality and the formation of new and more participatory relationships in the private and public sector workplace and beyond. Examine international comparisons of wages, education and training strategies, workplace representation and the roles of the social safety net and labor laws in economic and social development.
