Description: This upper level course examines the evolving field of forensic psychology. It is designed to provide a comprehensive insight into the complex relationship of psychology, criminology and law. The course examines the clinical and legal framework of forensic psychology and includes such topics as the insanity defense, the assessment of potential recruits to the police service and the role and status of "expert" testimony.

Prerequisites: Completion of Introduction to Psychology/General Psychology and Introduction to Criminal Justice (or equivalent) Completion of a course in Abnormal Psychology or its equivalent is strongly recommended or can be taken concurrently with this course.
