Description: New York State and Local Government is an introductory level course that explores the political system of New York State and the diverse and complex relationships between the state government and the various municipalities. The course examines the extraordinary history of New York and the interaction between the branches of government and the state agencies that deliver services and programs to citizens of the state. In a culminating project, students are provided the opportunity to study their community, local government, or a state agency or program of their choosing.

Important Note: This course was renamed effective SP1 2016 term and was formerly offered as State and Local Government. Students who have successfully completed 262224 should not enroll in this course.
