Course Description:
Human-computer interaction (HCI) is concerned with interactions between human activities and the computational systems that support them, and requires the understanding of and the advocacy for user-centeredness in the development of computer applications and systems. In this course students will learn about cognitive psychology, accessibility standards, user data and task analysis, graphic interface design, ergonomics, and other human factors.

Familiarity with the idea of application design such as one would gain in introductory programming or networking. Familiarity with the use of quantitative data, including graphing, and manipulating data in spreadsheets, such as one might gain in an introductory math or statistics course that uses spreadsheets.
