Course Description:
This course integrates advanced critical thinking and decision-making abilities with the application of theoretical frameworks, concepts, models of nursing practice, leadership and management. Students will immerse themselves in a leadership role of the professional nurse in a setting of their choice under the supervision of a clinical preceptor. This course enables the B.S. student to examine and develop the multidimensional competencies needed to become an effective professional nurse leader within health care settings and to be mindful of the contexts for nursing practice in any environment. For this course, the student will select one of four leadership tracks as an area of focus: Administrative Clinical Practice Education or Informatics. This course satisfies the college’s liberal arts and sciences requirement.
