Description: This is the first in a three course Calculus sequence. Topics found in Calculus 1 include functions, limits, continuity, derivatives, implicit differentiation, related rates, maxima and minima, and an introduction to definite integrals with applications to area and volumes of revolution.

The primary audience for this course is students who wish to concentrate in either mathematics or applied mathematics. Students concentrating in a tangentially related field, such as physics, may also be interested in this course.

Prior to enrolling in this course, student should have excellent algebraic skills and working knowledge of mathematical notation and terminology along with successful completion of Pre-calculus.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Mathematics.
