COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY (HDV-283514)

Course Description:


This course is an in-depth exploration of human cognition and relies heavily on experimental research designed to test models and theories of cognitive processes. It will explore both behavioral and neuropsychological approaches to data and theory. Topics may include attention, perception, multiple memory systems, encoding and retrieval processes, and the roles of knowledge, language, emotion, and reasoning.

Suggested prerequisite: Introduction to Psychology or equivalent

Important Note: Effective for the SP1 2017 term, this course no longer meets the General Education requirements in Social Sciences. This course is now offered at the advanced level. Students who took Cognitive Psychology 282204, should not take 283514.
