Description: Apply basic concepts of economic decision-making to a discussion and analysis of contemporary economics issues. Includes supply and demand concepts, health care, unemployment, inflation, taxation, monopoly and competition in certain industries, international trade and trade agreements. Discuss and debate controversial and real world situations requiring the use of economics principles and concepts.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Social Sciences.

It is primarily intended for students who seek a basic knowledge of economics to improve their own decision-making in the marketplace, and to develop a better understanding of public policy affecting their incomes and budgets. This study is open to all students except those pursuing a Concentration in Business Administration.
