Description: This four credit 400-level course is designed to be a capstone course for students in the Human Development Area of Study with a concentration in Human Development, particularly those who plan to go on to graduate school and/or do action research in the area. This course augments what students have learned about humans at different stages of development, integrating it with what they have learned about research methods. Students will have the opportunity to create a developmental design for a study in an area of professional or personal interest.

Statistics is a prerequisite for this course and Survey of Social Science Research (or the equivalent) is a prerequisite or corequisite for this course.

Prerequisites: Statistics is a prerequisite for this course. Survey of Social Science Research (or the equivalent) is a prerequisite (or corequisite) for this course; and since this is a 400-level course, students need significant prior knowledge in Human Development and the social sciences.

This course fully meets the General Education requirement in Social Sciences.

NOTE: This course was previously offered as Research Perspectives on Lifespan Development. Students, who completed 284244, cannot take Research Perspectives on Human Development.
