Course Description:


Why study communication? What can you do with it? Introduction to Communication provides students with an overview of the major fields of communication and key theories that support them. Students will develop an understanding of foundational communication theories at the interpersonal, group, organizational, and mass levels of communication and will apply these theories to evaluate communications in real-world settings. Students will be able to apply verbal and nonverbal communication strategies in order to reach specific audiences and understand how others use these strategies in communicating with them.

Prerequisites: College Writing/Composition or Equivalent
