1. Researcher In Assistive Technology and Editorial Assistant working with Mr. George Covington to develop computer techniques for sight enhancement in the visually impaired. Alpine, Texas, March 1998-September 1999 (with special projects between 1999-2002).

Mr. Covington is the former Special Assistant for Disability Policy to the Vice President of the United States during the Bush-Quayle administration. He was the first person to serve fulltime as a White House aide on disability issues. Prior to joining Vice President Quayle's staff, he worked on disability projects on the staff of Representative Jim Wright, former Speaker of the United States House of Representative. Before his work with the Federal Government, he was a media and communications consultant to non-profit organizations. He is the former Co-Chair of the Universal Design Task Force of the President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. Mr. Covington is the co-author of Access by Design, with Bruce Hannah, which presents the first comprehensive review on accessibility and universal design.

2. Assistant to Charles Blitz, Social and Political Activist and President, Social Venture Network. Santa Barbara, California, 1992

Mr. Blitz was active in organizing Gorbachev's visit to the US in 1992, and behind the scenes of the 1992 presidential campaign. Mr. Blitz is a master communicator and influencer with powerful connections. Working for Mr. Blitz taught me how to produce high quality results of national and international import under extreme pressure and unforgiving deadlines while collaborating with, lobbying to, and advocating for some of the most powerful individuals in the nation.


3. Director, Public Relations and Fundraising for the Société Protectrice Des Animaux De Québec (Quebec Society for the Protection of Animals) (SPA) Québec City, Québec, Canada, 1985-86. Supervisor: M. Serge De Beaumont, CEO.

This position included the strategic planning, coordination and implementation of a multi-phase fundraising campaign, culminating in an extravaganza of fundraising events tailored for different audiences and various levels of giving. The extravaganza was specifically designed to attract high profile media attention while engaging the SPA community, volunteers, major donors and the general public.
