SNL Online) are in the process of developing a training course for online faculty. To cover:

* A section on technology (Blackboard, Campus Connect, email,
etc.)
* A section on DePaul, SNL, the structure of the SNL program and
teaching to competence
* A section on teaching online (may be taught by IDD's Online
Teaching Institute) -- focusing on guiding discussion, communication,
etc.
* A section on preparing one's online course.

Instructional Technology and Development (ITD) department,part of IS, has many trainings for faculty on using
Blackboard, Clicker, Podcasting, and other technologies. Trainings
available in-person.

send faculty notice of workshops and classes offered by IDD and various DePaul offices. These include Quality Matters training ; Assessing Learning online; and various other trainings. Sometimes they bring people in, and sometimes web-enabled. Most of these available in-person, too. IDD probably co-sponsors 3-6 trainings per year.

Also address issues of teaching online in the SNL Faculty Development Days -- had between 30 minutes and 2 hours (sometimes in breakout groups) focusing on online teaching issues, such as Dealing with Difficult
Students, etc. Available to remote participants by using videoconferencing and email, and sometimes a phone bridge.

IDD is doing a great job of creating an online community!
