Higher Education Institutions of Interest.
The Institutions of Interest are investigated based on a list of 'peer' institutions as researched by the Mentoring Institute, Empire State College. It was not stated what was the criteria of a peer institution however it can be inferred that they are institutions with missions similar to Empire State College eg. open access, liberal arts, adult focused. The list has a disclaimer that the organization nor the program is endorsed by Empire State College. Further insight into some of the colleges was offered by Alan Mandell (Director of Mentoring Institute) who offered background about the colleges and previous contacts with Empire State College. Thus the initial list to investigate was focused upon those below:
