Context
Columbus Ohio. 8000 students, av age of undergraduates is 36 yrs, of which 70% take one online class. 19 majors – centered around business & technology mainly. Have general educational requirements. Open enrollment. Taught in small classrooms. None residency. Students in F2F attend after work via classes in evening. 520 adjuncts -Lead faculty (supervise) - 40 . Private university
Faculty Development
- Offer an orientation course - compulsory, paid for attendance - $300 plus $300 after teaching the 2nd course.
- $25 per hour to attend workshops. See list
. Stream workshop on web for later viewing. Delivered workshop via 'Elluminate' . Record workshop- link on web. Paid to design workshop. 2 hours length for workshop
- Annual event for full and part time faculty - with speaker - 2007 on faculty evaluation
- All courses on Elluminate – training on mechanics, followed by effective student interaction
