Academic Experience

Mentor, Unit Coordinator, and tenured full Professor in the State University of New York, Empire State College. The faculty role involves working with adult students in the design of individualized degree programs, the development of prior learning portfolios and the construction of learning contracts. Direct undergraduate tutorial instruction and evaluation include the following academic areas: Sociology and its sub-fields, Ethnic Conflict, Refugee Studies, Social History, Irish history and Local history. In the graduate program tutorial areas include Ethnic Conflict and World Politics as well as various topics in Sociology. Administrative responsibilities include public relations; recruitment, selection and orientation of students; recruitment and training of adjunct faculty and tutors.
