What is Educational Planning?

Educational Planning is a course of study that you will enter with your primary mentor. In this study the mentor will assist you to develop your own plan of study with Empire State College. It is intended to help you answer many questions, such as:

What are my goals?
What degree would I like to get?
How will this degree help me to achieve my goals?
How long will the degree take?
What do I want to study?
How do I study best?
Do I already know something that may be worth college credit?

As you enter Educational Planning you may be a bit apprehensive. The information that I have included on this website, as well as the assistance I will give you personally, will help you to be successful. For some general information about planning your degree visit Developing your degree program site. When I ask you to begin using the DP Planner to develop your program, you can easily get information on how to do that through the DP Planner site. If you have not already done so, you will need a login and password to enter DP Planner. To do this, go to MyESC webpage. Once your account is set up, you will be able to access DP Planner and many other student services.

To enter a discussion area to chat with other students about educational planning visit the
Student Discussion Area. Please note that to open the discussion board you will need to login using your Empire State College username and password.
