Educational Planning: Nuts and Bolts

Educational planning is the only hard and fast requirement for every Empire undergraduate. In this study students research, read about, reason, and design a program of studies for their degree.

Please read the following carefully and then read each of the pages in the Educational Planning series. If you are taking Educational Planning with me for credit at Empire, you should plan to have read all of this section of the web site (all Educational Planning pages) and have contacted me for a conversation. We will craft the way you do the learning contract that is described in the last four pages linked below. During the first four weeks of the term, you should plan to read all of these Educational Planning pages at least twice, as well as visit all of the external links they contain. You should be prepared for a second conversation about the fifth week of term with your questions prepared in advance.

Four credits of Educational Planning studies are required for all undergraduates who expect to earn a degree at Empire State College, no matter what your field of study is.
